Easy Peach Crisp with Oat Topping- (Gluten-Free, mSCD, Paleo & Whole30)
Nothing says peach season quite like a warm, bubbling peach crisp. There’s something about the smell of sweet ripe peaches, a buttery golden topping, and just a hint of cinnamon and floral honey that instantly brings me back to my grandma’s kitchen.
This is one of those low-effort, high-reward desserts that’s simple enough to throw together on a weeknight or for unannounced guests.
Frozen Peaches for the Win 🍑
While fresh peaches are beautiful in peak season, I actually use frozen sliced peaches for this recipe most of the time. Not only are they already peeled and sliced (yes, please), but they also cut down on prep time dramatically.
Just keep in mind: frozen fruit may take a little longer to bake—and your crisp might be extra juicy (which is never a bad thing in my book!).
Want to switch it up? You can easily swap the peaches for blueberries, cherries, or a mixed berry blend. It’s super flexible and just as delicious.
What’s the Difference Between a Crisp and a Crumble?
The main difference is in the topping:
A crisp typically includes oats and sometimes nuts in the topping, giving it that signature crunchy texture.
A crumble, on the other hand, has a more traditional streusel topping made with flour, butter, and sugar—no oats.
Both are cozy, comforting, and endlessly adaptable.
Tips for Serving & Storing
This crisp is best enjoyed warm from the oven, but leftovers are still delicious the next day.
To store: Place in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. I recommend reheating in the oven to bring back some of the crispness to the topping. However, it’s just as delicious in the microwave, just not as crisp.
(Pro tip: Top your leftovers with SCD yogurt the next morning and call it breakfast—zero judgment here.)
Strictly SCD?
If you’re following a strict SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet), this crisp likely won’t fit within your current ingredients list. But not to worry—I’ve got you covered!

A Taste of Summer Comfort
This peach crisp is everything you want in a summer dessert—juicy, golden, just the right amount of sweet, and full of comforting flavor. The warm cinnamon, rich oats, and floral touch of honey make every bite feel like Summertime.
Whether you’re making it for a backyard gathering, a weeknight treat, or just because peaches called your name at the store, I hope this recipe brings a little sunshine to your table.
