Easy & Delicious Game Day mSCD Buffalo Chicken Dip

🏈 mSCD Buffalo Chicken Dip (Game Day Favorite!)

Gear up for the big game with one of football’s most popular dips, buffalo chicken! Made mSCD-friendly without sacrificing flavor or comfort.

This creamy, savory dip is everything you want on game day: warm, satisfying, easy to make and share, plus it’s made with simple ingredients you can feel good about. It’s perfect for Super Bowl Sunday, casual gatherings, or anytime you’re craving something bold and familiar that still fits within SCD or mSCD guidelines.

Made with shredded chicken, a rich and creamy ranch, just the right amount of heat, and finished with melty cheddar, this dip brings classic buffalo flavor to the table with no fillers, no gums, and no added sugars.

Serve it warm with carrots, celery, cucumber slices, and grain-free almond flour crackers, or enjoy it straight from the bowl (no judgment here😉).

🥣 SCD & mSCD Notes

This recipe is mSCD-friendly as written and designed to be flexible based on individual tolerance.

  • For mSCD, store-bought plain Greek yogurt works well and adds creaminess without overpowering the buffalo flavor.
  • To make this recipe fully SCD-compliant, substitute the Greek yogurt with dripped SCD yogurt. Dripping removes excess whey and results in a thicker, creamier texture that blends beautifully into the dip.
  • The ranch used in this recipe is mayo-forward, with small amounts of almond milk, honey, and herbs. This keeps the dip rich and cohesive while avoiding gums or starches.
  • You can also add blue cheese crumbles to the top of this dip along with the green onions for some extra creaminess and a little funk! Just be sure to get a small wedge of blue cheese and crumble it yourself,  not pre-crumbled blue cheese as this type will have added starches to keep the crumbles separated.
  • Always double-check labels on mayonnaise and hot sauce to ensure there are no added sugars, gums, or fillers, especially if you’re sensitive.

This dip is naturally high-protein, low-carb, and rich, making it especially satisfying with simple dippers like celery, carrots, or grain-free crackers.

⏱️ Make-Ahead & Reheating Tips

This dip is a great option for stress-free entertaining.

Make Ahead

  • Assemble the dip up to 24 hours in advance
  • Cover tightly and refrigerate until ready to bake
  • If baking straight from the fridge, add 5–10 minutes to the bake time

Reheating

  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F until warmed through
  • Or reheat gently on the stovetop over low heat, stirring occasionally
  • Add a splash of almond milk or a spoonful of yogurt if needed to loosen the texture

Leftovers reheat well and can also be repurposed into wraps, stuffed potatoes, or veggie bowls.
