The pumpkin spice latte is the ultimate cozy fall coffee drink. This latte was invented in the late 80’s, early 90’s with specialty espresso drinks on the rise in the US. While no one knows the exact person that invented this drink, Starbucks is no doubt the reason for its mainstream popularity. The coffee chain released this drink in October of 2003 to 100 of its locations and ended up starting a pumpkin spice obsession.
This recipe takes the latte we all know and love, removes the sugary syrups and replaces them with honey, while keeping the pumpkin spice flavors and characteristic frothy foam on top. Smooth creamy almond milk blends with the coffee. Savory pumpkin puree, warm baking spices, and luxuriously rich cocoa butter come together to create a velvety texture and classic taste. Don’t give up your favorite pumpkin spice drink this season, try this latte recipe today and celebrate fall the SCD way. Cheers!
