Turmeric Ginger Smoothie

Turmeric and ginger have been used for centuries as herbal remedy and for good reason. Science has recently shown just how powerful these roots are. Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin that is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that can aid in everything from heart health to new brain cell growth. Ginger is a cousin to turmeric and as such they share many properties. Ginger contains gingerol which is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory as well. Ginger has been long used for nausea and digestion, but we have recently learned it’s good for much more. Things like prevention of osteoarthritis, improved heart health, lowering cholesterol levels, and even cancer prevention. Together these roots can relieve pain and support proper immune function. Turmeric Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 ½ Cups coconut milk (see recipe) 

4 Bananas, sliced and frozen

2 tsp. turmeric 

1 tsp. ginger, grated 

2 Tbsp. honey 

      Method Of Prep:

  1. Gather and prep ingredients.
  2. Slice bananas and freeze for at least two hours to ensure they are frozen solid.
  3. Assemble your high-speed blender with the standard blade attachment.
  4. Place all ingredients in the blender. Blend on high until smooth.
  5. Pour into glasses or jars and serve immediately.
