Turmeric Ginger Chicken Burgers

These burgers are packed with fresh flavors while being lean! The ginger provides a punch, while the turmeric and coconut aminos add savory richness. The green onion adds much needed texture and brightness to the patties. If you’re feeling adventurous try adding cumin and coriander for some extra spice!

Ingredients:

1 Lb. ground chicken

1 Tbsp. fresh ginger, minced

2 Cloves of garlic, minced

½ Tsp. turmeric, ground

½ Tsp. paprika

2 Tbsp. coconut aminos

2 Green onions, sliced

Salt, TT

Black pepper, TT

      Method Of Prep:

  1. Get grill fire set up and going, or preheat grill griddle on medium high heat.
  2. Gather and prep ingredients.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl add ground chicken, ginger, garlic, turmeric, paprika, green onions, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mix until well combined, and form into patties.
  5. Each patty should be about four ounces, and you should get four each. When shaping patties be sure to hold it in your hand and put one finger on top of the patty and one on the bottom. Gently apply pressure to form a small dip in the middle. This will ensure even cooking and prevent drying out by coming to temp sooner.
  6. Spray your grill of choice with some olive oil to prevent sticking.
  7. Grill patties for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Serve on a lettuce bun, with a slice of tomato and avocado if you fancy it.
  9. I like to have these burgers with homemade mayo, and stone ground mustard, but feel free to add other toppings you enjoy.
  10. Serve these burgers alongside carrot and yellow squash ‘fries’ with ‘chimichurri’ dipping sauce for an all-around great meal with some Eastern and South American flare!
