Easy Dairy-Free & SCD London Fog Latte

There is nothing quite like a warm London fog latte on a brisk winter morning. Traditionally a London fog uses Earl Grey tea. This particular type of tea is different from black tea as it has oil of bergamot in it, giving it its distinctive flavor. Bergamot, if you don’t know, is a citrus fruit and is described as a cross between a bitter orange and a lemon. It has a lovely bright citrus and floral aroma and taste.

Almost always, Earl Grey tea has this oil as well as ‘natural or artificial flavors’ which makes it not SCD legal. Wanting to recreate this classic tea latte for SCD, I finally found the perfect combination!

The astringent black tea is toned down by the smooth nutty milk. Complemented by floral lavender, bright citrus, with a hint of sweetness from the honey and warm background notes of vanilla. This latte has that classic luxuriously smooth foam on top and that signature London fog flavor profile without any of the dairy or artificial flavors.

Go ahead and bookmark this one, you have just found your new favorite cold weather drink! Cheers!

1 tsp. vanilla extract

¼ tsp. lemon or orange extract

1 ½ cups nut milk, no added sugar or thickeners

  Method Of Prep:

  1. Gather and prep ingredients.
  2. Begin by bringing your water to just over 200°F (or when your tea kettle whistles).
